VNM EC 201

1. Provide a network-centric, dedicated control appliance to manage IP streaming systems across one or more networks
   1. Rack mountable, networked controller of streaming codecs, encoders, decoders and recorders shall:
      1. Consist of a 1U high, half rack wide, rackmountable metal enclosure
      2. Allow two controllers to operate in a redundant failover mode
      3. Automatically maintain status and setting configurations between controllers when operating in redundant failover mode
      4. Allow management of multiple streaming systems in combined or independent domains
      5. Provide external control systems with a single point of control for the entire streaming system
      6. Allow external control from RS-232 and Ethernet communication
      7. Provide a web browser interface for configuration and management of each device in the streaming system, including:
         1. Simple management of streaming connections from an input-output connection management display
         2. Identification and streaming connections
         3. Monitoring of device warnings
         4. Controller appliance configuration
         5. Identification and control of encoder, decoder, and recorder configurations
         6. Creation of custom input and output modes
         7. Monitoring of streaming bandwidth
         8. Management of device overlays
         9. Management of firmware upgrades to the entire system or select system devices
         10. Present a comprehensive view of all system element information including:
             1. Device status
             2. Operating mode
             3. Serial number
             4. Device name
             5. IP Address
             6. Controller
             7. Device type
             8. Firmware version
         11. Sorting and organizing system devices based on device attributes identified in (vii. 10)
      8. Provide an integrated web server that operates on a 64-bit version of RHEL
   2. Approved hardware shall be VNM EC 201 (60-1864-01); no alternates or equals.
