Anaheim, California (September 27, 2011) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the MPA 152 ENERGY STAR qualified, integrated Mini Power Amplifier. The MPA 152 provides stereo amplification for speaker systems in classrooms and other applications requiring compact, economical audio solutions. This ENERGY STAR qualified amplifier features an Extron exclusive, highly efficient, advanced Class D amplifier design with patented CDRS™ - Class D Ripple Suppression technology that provides a smooth, clean audio waveform and an improvement in signal fidelity over conventional Class D designs. This Extron exclusive, high efficiency design allows the amplifier to be fanless and operate in environments with little or no ventilation.
"With this new MPA 152, we are proud to be the first manufacturer in the pro AV industry to offer a complete family of ENERGY STAR qualified amplifiers," says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. "All of these amplifiers consume less power than competitive models, and can offer significant long term energy savings for their clients looking to reduce operating costs and achieve overall energy efficiency goals."
The MPA 152 is an energy efficient product with an auto power-down feature that automatically places the amplifier into standby after 25 minutes of inactivity. It consumes 3 watts when idle and less than 1 watt in standby mode. The MPA 152 is housed in a compact 1U, quarter rack width enclosure, and is UL 2043 plenum rated, allowing for a concealed installation above a drop ceiling to prevent theft while providing convenient placement of AV equipment. It delivers 15 watts rms per channel into 4 ohms and 8 watts rms into 8 ohms.
Extron is the first manufacturer in the pro AV industry to offer a complete family of ENERGY STAR qualified power amplifiers that conserve energy and reduce costs. Extron ENERGY STAR qualified power amplifiers are available in a variety of low and high power models from 30 watts to 800 watts rms total output, and are ideal for a wide range of mono, stereo, and multi-channel applications.
