Extron Introduces New High Performance Twisted Pair Distribution Amplifiers
Anaheim, California (September 28, 2004)
- Extron Electronics introduces the MTP DA4 and MTP DA8 Mini Twisted Pair Distribution Amplifiers
for transmitting high resolution computer-video, HDTV, component video, S-video, composite video, and audio or RS-232 signals from a compatible MTP Series transmitter to multiple compatible MTP Series receivers. The MTP DA4 and MTP DA8 split the signal from one MTP Series transmitter so it can drive four or eight receivers. These new DAs are ideal for courtrooms, airports, conference centers, and other twisted pair applications that require multiple displays. "The MTP DA Series distribution amplifiers represent Extron's continued commitment to expanding the possibilities for twisted pair system integration," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "They are designed for easy integration into new or existing AV environments." Each MTP DA distribution amplifier features a video mute control via contact closure for use with a local control system. For example, in a courtroom, the judge can control which displays receive a signal, or mute all displays with a single push of a button. This feature eliminates the need for additional devices or complex command strings to accomplish video muting in a distribution application. Extron manufactures a complete line of products for twisted pair solutions, including transmitters, receivers, switchers, matrix switchers, distribution amplifiers, cable, and accessories, providing the ability to route and distribute high resolution video, audio, and control signals over a single UTP cable. The list price for the MTP DA4 is $575.00, and the list price for the MTP DA8 is $845.00. Both models are available now.
