Anaheim, California (July 14, 2015) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce that all MPS 602 media presentation switcher models now support DTP twisted pair signal extension up to 330 feet (100 meters). The MPS 602 is a simple-to-use, six input media presentation switcher for digital and analog sources. It offers digital video switching with three HDCP-compliant HDMI inputs and one DTP twisted pair input, and analog video switching with two RGB inputs that are digitized for distribution to the digital outputs. For increased flexibility, the MPS 602 includes a DTP twisted pair output and an HDMI output that are switch-selectable. The DTP input and output work together with DTP endpoints to extend video, audio, and bidirectional control signals over shielded CATx cable. The MPS 602 also includes several audio switching and processing features, an available built-in 100 watt stereo or mono Class D power amplifier, plus flexible control options for complete switching and distribution with local and remote display support.
"The MPS 602 provides integrators with the ideal product that simplifies AV switching and delivers powerful integration capabilities such as twisted pair signal extension and audio amplification," says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. "These enhanced models provide the additional flexibility to choose between a wide variety of DTP 230 and DTP 330 endpoints to accommodate the precise AV connectivity and transmission distance needs of each system."
The MPS 602 provides the convenience of supporting local and remote sources and displays. Integrators can choose from a complete line of DTP 330 Series transmitters and receivers for transmission distances up to 330 feet (100 meters) or DTP 230 Series endpoints for up to 230 feet (70 meters), to accommodate distance requirements of specific applications. The MPS 602 can also remotely power the DTP endpoints over the same shielded CATx cable, streamlining system design and installation. Additionally, the MPS 602 features Extron-exclusive EDID Minder and Key Minder technologies to simplify integration of sources and displays, and to help ensure optimal system performance and dependability.
The MPS 602 includes six-input analog audio switching, a mic/line input with 48 volt phantom power, HDMI audio embedding and de-embedding, and several audio processing features for mixing and ducking. To streamline audio setup, the MPS 602 features front panel mic and program audio output volume controls that allow for independent adjustment of mic volume, program audio volume, and muting.
