Device Settings

You can use the Device Settings option to change the IP address of the connected device and the baud rate of RS-232 ports. You can also create or modify passwords for the device.

NOTE:  While in Emulate mode, the Device Settings option on the Tools menu is disabled.

IP Settings

The factory default IP address is 192.168.254.254.

To change the IP address of the device:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Device Settings. The Device Settings dialog opens.

  2. On the IP Settings tab, select the IP Address check box.

  3. In the IP Address field, enter the desired IP address.

  4. Click Apply to save the change and continue updating other settings. Alternatively, click OK to save the new setting and exit the dialog.

Passwords

The MPX Plus 866 A accepts both Administrator- and User-level passwords. When an administrator password exists on the device, DSP Configurator requires the administrator password before connecting to the device in Live mode.

To create or modify a password on the device:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Device Settings. The Device Settings dialog opens.

  2. On the IP Settings tab, select the Admin Password check box, User Password check box, or both.

  3. In the field of each selected password type, enter the desired password.

  4. In the associated Retype Password field, retype the password.

  5. Click Apply to save the change and continue updating other settings. Alternatively, click OK to save the new setting and exit the dialog.

Serial Settings

To change the baud rate of the device RS-232 ports:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Device Settings. The Device Settings dialog opens.

  2. Click the Serial Settings tab.

  3. Select the Primary RS-232 Port
    check box, Secondary RS-232 Port
    check box, or both.

  4. From the respective drop-down list, select the desired baud rate.

  5. Click Apply to save the change and continue updating other settings. Alternatively, click OK to save the new setting and exit the dialog.

Executive Mode

Executive mode is also known as front panel security lockout. To prevent accidental changes to the settings on the unit, the MPX Plus 866 A provides two executive mode options. Enabling mode 1 provides lockout of all front panel buttons. Enabling mode 2 provides a partial lockout. The basic functions are unlocked and include making ties and recalling presets. With mode 2 enabled, you can still set input audio gain and attenuation.

To set executive mode:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Device Settings. The Device Settings dialog opens.

  2. Click the Executive Mode tab.

  3. Click the radio button of the desired executive mode option.

  4. Executive mode 0 - This option disables executive mode on the MPX Plus 866 A.

  5. Executive mode 1 - This option locks all front panel buttons.

  6. Executive mode 2 - This option is only a partial lockout. Basic functions are unlocked.

  1. Click Apply to save the change and continue updating other settings. Alternatively, click OK to save the new setting and exit the dialog.
