The Extron USBC Pro 8K Series of active, hybrid optical-copper USB-C® cables simultaneously transmit DisplayPort audio and video, USB 2.0 data rates, and power over distances up to 30 feet (9.1 meters). These feature-rich cables support 8K/30 video and audio on four DisplayPort lanes. The USBC Pro 8K cables support bidirectional power delivery of up to 60 watts. The ultra-flexible, 0.26” (6.5 mm) thin diameter and narrow bend radius cable construction allow for installation in tight spaces. These active cables are unidirectional and can draw power from either connected USB device. The USBC Pro 8K Series cables are ideal for USB-C enabled devices that support 8K/30 video.

The USBC Pro 8K Series offers the benefits of fiber optics with the simplicity of traditional copper cables. Providing the best combination of price and performance, this cabling solution is ideal for sending DisplayPort video, embedded audio, USB data, and power signals over long cable runs while maintaining full signal integrity. It supports reliable operation in mission-critical applications.

The cables use glass, multimode optical fiber to transmit 8K/30 DisplayPort video and embedded audio signals. Built‑in active circuitry converts the incoming electrical signal into an optical signal on one end, and back into an electrical signal on the opposite end. The cable circuitry draws minimal power that it receives from either the connected USB host or USB peripheral device. All other non-bandwidth intensive or low-speed signals are carried on the integrated copper wires, including USB 2.0/1.1, EDID, HDCP, and power. The USBC Pro 8K Series allows for power requirement negotiations between connected USB devices that support Power Delivery - USB PD. This enables either the host or the peripheral device to deliver power. For example, a self-powered display charges a laptop connected at the host-end of the cable.

For easy identification and cable orientation, a red-colored ring encircles the host connector neck and connector ends are molded with descriptive text to indicate source and display directionality.
