The Extron Fiber Optic Test Set includes all the tools needed to measure optical power and loss in multimode and singlemode fiber optic AV equipment and fiber optic cabling. The FLS 101 light source includes both a multimode LED output that operates at 850 nm and 1300 nm, and a singlemode laser output that operates at 1310 nm and 1550 nm. The FPM 101 power meter is compatible with both multimode and singlemode fiber and features an easy-to-read LCD display for measuring optical power in dBm or watts and insertion loss in dB. The test set also includes all the cables and adapters needed for testing fiber optic AV systems and a durable padded carrying case to organize and protect the test equipment with room for the power meter, light source, cables, and adapters.

The Extron Fiber Optic Test Set features automatic wavelength identification with Wave ID to simplify setup. The light source transmits a single wavelength or two wavelengths in an alternating pattern with Wave ID. The power meter automatically detects the Wave ID and sets itself to the appropriate wavelength. When the power meter detects two alternating wavelengths, it configures itself to measure both wavelengths.

The Extron Fiber Optic Test Set is ideal for use in applications that require power and loss budget analysis in a fiber optic infrastructure. The portable, handheld size of the light sources and power meter enable testing in tight spaces often found in AV equipment racks, fiber optic patch panels, behind displays, and in cable raceways.
