The Extron DTP3 T 322 D is a two-input wallplate transmitter for sending USB‑C® video, HDMI, data, embedded audio, power, and control up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. Up to 100 watt USB‑C charging is available when deployed with the Extron UPI 100 Power Inserter. It supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 @ 4:4:4 and complies with HDCP 2.3. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression. It offers many integrator-friendly features such as EDID Minder®, auto-switching between inputs, remote power capability, and bidirectional RS‑232 extension for remote AV device control. Available in black or white, the wall-mountable design provides the convenience of placing input connections precisely where they are needed.

The DTP3 T 322 D supports long distance transmission of HDMI 2.0b signals at data rates up to 18 Gbps, including HDR, Deep Color, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. DDC communication of EDID and HDCP is continuously maintained between source and display for direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices. The two-gang wallplate form factor facilitates placement of HDMI and USB-C input connections in walls, tables, credenzas, lecterns, and floor boxes.

Full Support for USB‑C Video, Data, Power Delivery, and Extension

The DTP3 T 322 D enables the reliable, long distance transmission of USB‑C DisplayPort alt-mode video up to 21.6 Gbps. The USB‑C input supports the three functions of video/audio, USB data, and device charging over a single cable. This all-in-one connection eliminates the need for laptops to have a separate power or USB data connection and streamlines the user experience with a single cable. The DTP3 T 322 D provides up to 100 watts of charging power with the addition of the UPI 100 power inserter. The transmitter can also access remote USB 2 devices connected to a DTP3 R 331 receiver. This enables cameras, microphones, mice, and keyboards installed in the room to be available to the connected USB host.

Features that Streamline Integration

To enhance and simplify integration of devices and contribute to optimal system performance, the DTP3 T 322 D includes Extron EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous EDID communication with each source. The technology ensures that the sources power up properly and reliably send content for display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for each input, HDCP status, and power, as well as connection status for the USB‑C host device. A separate LED indicates if the DTP3 T 322 D is configured to automatically switch the active input.

The DTP3 output can be configured for compatibility with HDBaseT‑enabled displays to send video,  embedded audio, USB data, plus bidirectional RS‑232 signals to an HDBaseT-enabled display. It is backward compatible with first-generation DTP-enabled products. The transmitter is also compatible with a broad range of multi-channel audio signals, providing reliable operation with independent audio sources.

Convenient Control and Power

The DTP3 T 322 D provides many other integrator-friendly features designed to help streamline installation. It supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS‑232 from a control system. The control signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, facilitating remote operation of AV devices without the need for additional cabling.

This DTP3 wallplate transmitter can be remotely powered over the shielded CAT 6A cable by a DTP3-enabled product. In addition, it can be configured to provide power to the connected receiver, allowing both devices to share one power supply.

For added convenience, a USB‑C configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and direct updating of firmware. Configuration of the DTP3 T 322 D is easy with Extron’s PCS - Product Configuration Software. Its user-friendly GUI is very intuitive and easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup and commissioning, along with real-time operation and monitoring. The DTP3 T 322 D mounts in an included two-gang decorator-style wallplate that fits a standard US two‑gang size junction box.

To ensure optimal performance with DTP3 systems, Extron recommends XTP DTP 22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables and the shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18 Gbps. Extron XTP DTP 22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500 MHz and utilizes an S/FTP design with four shielded 22 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield. This engineering ensures superior performance and noise immunity.
