The Extron MLC 226 IP L MediaLink Controller is an enhanced control panel for controlling AV equipment in any classroom or conference room. It standardizes the control interface for all systems, making display systems simple to use. Standardization also makes setup and maintenance easier to support. The MLC 226 IP L also includes IP Link® with GlobalViewer®, a free Web-based AV resource management and remote control software application.

Provide an Ethernet enabled button panel controller interface with a low profile lectern style faceplate for the purpose of remotely controlling, monitoring and troubleshooting connected AV equipment and AV systems
Configuration-based, mountable, Ethernet enabled controller with button panel interface
Device shall have a total of 11 fully configurable tri-colored LED lit buttons, six dedicated for input selection, three dedicated for room control and the remaining two dedicated for power
Buttons shall illuminate red, green, or amber, depending on function, for ease of use in low-light environments.
Buttons shall feature removable button caps allowing them to be custom labeled for easy identification
Device shall provide a rotary encoder knob located in the bottom left of the panel that can be configured to control the audio level of an AV system.
Device shall feature 5 LEDs, four green and one red arranged vertically located adjacent to the rotary encoder. When configured, these LEDs shall provide visual feedback to reflect the relative of the audio level of the AV system
Supports the creation of IR drivers by capturing IR commands from handheld remotes. IR receiver shall be located on the face plate of the controller
Device shall feature a 2.5mm TRS socket on the face plate that allows for device configuration and setup.
Device shall have a configurable bidirectional RS-232 or IR port on captive screw connectors located on the back of the panel for universal display control
Device shall support one digital input on captive screw connector located on the back of the controller that can be used to interface with devices such as sensors, switches, and relays
Device shall support one configurable digital I/O on shared 9 pin D connector located on the back of the controller that can be used to interface with devices such as sensors, switches, LEDs and relays
Device shall support up to four addressable button modules that allow for expandability and shall be wired into the captive screw connectors located on the back of the panel
Device shall support up to two secondary control panels for additional points of control and shall be wired into the captive screw connectors located on the back of the panel
Device shall have six normally open low voltage relays on captive screw connectors that can be configured to control lighting, screen control or other device functions
Device shall have three configurable IR/Serial ports on captive screw connectors located on the back of the controller. These ports shall allow the transmission of IR signals (using an IR emitter) or unidirectional RS-232 communications for control of AV system components
Device shall have a bi-directional RS-232 port on captive screw connectors located on the back of the panel dedicated for MediaLink Switcher support by default however it can be configured to control any RS-232 controllable AV device
Device shall include a 12 volt captive screw connection located on the back of the panel used to power the product with an included universal power supply
Device shall have a female RJ-45 jack located on the back that supports 10/100Base-T, half/full duplex with auto-detect for connection to a LAN or WAN. Also includes link and activity indicators for troubleshooting network issues
Device shall have a female RJ-45 jack located on the back that supports an optional IP Intercom module
Device shall have a captive screw connector on the back of the panel that will output a mono audio signal when the optional intercom is used
Device shall support the following protocols: ARP, ICMP (ping), IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, Telnet
Device shall have the following memory available, at minimum:
7.25 MB nonvolatile user memory
Device shall include a multi-function button that allows for the reset of the device or its communication properties at minimum
Device shall be Section 508 Compliant and shall meet or exceed accessibility standards for Electronic Information Technology
Supports a web-based AV resource management application that provides a means to manage, monitor, and control AV equipment
Provide an internal real-time clock with a 30 years backup battery that is used to keep track of the date and time

Device shall be controllable using an iPad that is running an iPad App as a secondary point of control
