Extron Introduces MediaLink® PoleVault® System
Anaheim, California (June 7, 2006)
- Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the MediaLink PoleVault System
, an innovative approach to low-cost classroom AV integration. The PoleVault System takes its name from the unique way the system securely mounts and conceals the switching and audio amplification components above the projector, providing tamper-resistant theft deterrence for the AV system. A twisted pair-based design provides quick and easy installation using low-cost CAT5 type cables. The PoleVault system includes all the projector control, mounting hardware, switching, speakers, wall plates and cabling needed for a complete AV system. All that remains is to add the video sources, projection screen, and projector.
"Because the PoleVault system places the key components at the projector, no equipment rack or closet room is required for the switching and audio amplification equipment, saving valuable space," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "At the heart of the system is our new twisted pair switcher. Audio and video signals are all run through economical unshielded twisted pair cable, which is lighter and easier to install than coaxial cable." All of the components are designed to work together and are easy to configure, which results in a significant reduction in engineering and installation costs. The MediaLink PoleVault System removes the design guesswork from budget conscious, single projector AV environments. Visit the press area of our Web site at www.extron.com/press
