Creating a Display Disconnection E-mail

The monitoring feature in Global Configurator enables you to configure IP Link® devices to monitor many parameters of their connected A/V devices.  This feature can be used to monitor a display connection and send an alert e-mail to the administrator if a display is unexpectedly disconnected from the network.

Note:  The display port of a System 5 IP is shown as an example.  However, the monitoring function is available for use with many other IP Link and A/V devices.

To create a display disconnection e-mail alert:

  1. In the IP Link Tree window, select a display port.

  1. Click the Monitor tab.

  2. On the Monitor tab, click the Add Monitor button.  The Monitored Conditions Wizard screen opens.

  1. In the Monitored Condition Name field, enter a unique name to identify the monitored condition.

  2. Click Next.

  1. Select a device.

  2. Select Connection Status: Disconnected.

  3. Click Apply Condition.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Next a second time to add an e-mail notification.

  1. In the Email Messages section, select Disconnect Notification.

  2. In the Contacts section, select the desired contacts.

  3. Click the Apply Email/Contacts button.  The new e-mail distribution appears under the Emails branch in the Monitored Conditions section.

  4. Click Done.

Note:  You can use the Contact Manager and Email Manager buttons to create e-mail contacts
and custom e-mails.
