Backup

It is possible for the data on the DMP 64 to become out of sync with a file that created the data (for instance, if additional presets are created in Live mode, via the web page, or using SIS™ commands) or for the original file to be lost or misplaced. To create a file that is in sync with the data on the device, you need to run the Backup utility in DSP Configurator.

When you use the Pull Data synchronization method, preset data remains on the device and only the list of preset names is pulled from the device. Recalling each preset individually effectively brings that preset data into DSP Configurator. The Backup utility automates the process, then invokes the Save dialog to complete the backup process.

Backing Up Data on the Device

  1. Connect the device that you want to back up.

CAUTION:  Do not perform this operation during a live event, because all presets are called sequentially during this procedure.

  1. From the File menu, select Backup. A confirmation dialog opens asking whether you want to continue.

  2. Click OK to proceed with the backup. The Backup utility runs and the cursor becomes an hour glass while presets are recalled. At the end of the operation, the Save Configuration File As... dialog box opens.

  3. Browse to the location where the file is to be saved.

  4. In the File name field, enter the desired file name (or use the default).

  5. Click Save.
