Options

You can set user defaults and preferences by selecting Options from the Tools menu. Selecting an option from the right or left column in the Options dialog box focuses the selection and turns the right-column item into a drop-down list. You can expand or collapse sections by clicking the or icon. The subsections below describe the parameters that can be set in each option group.

Appearance

You can adjust the Color Style parameter. This option sets the color scheme for the filter table.

To adjust the color style:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Color Style field.

  3. To the right of the Color Style field, click the button to open the drop-down list.

  4. From the drop-down list select the desired color scheme. You can select Defaults, Custom, or another preselected scheme that is listed.

Complimentary Colors

You can adjust the Primary Color parameter, Secondary Color parameter, or both. These settings alter the complementary colors in a dialog box, such as the filter graph composite line and the horizontal grabber.

To adjust the complimentary colors:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Primary Color field.

  3. To the right of the Primary Color field, click the button to open the drop-down list.

  4. From the drop-down list, click the Custom, Web, or System tab to select a color palette. Web is the default.

  5. Select a color from the list. When a color scheme is altered, the Color Style setting changes to Custom.

  6. Click the Secondary Color field.

  7. To the right of the Secondary Color field, click the button to open the drop-down list.

  8. From the drop-down list, click the Custom, Web, or System tab to select a color palette. Web is the default.

  9. Select a color from the list. When a color scheme is altered, the Color Style setting changes to Custom.

Graph Colors

You can set one or all of the colors for the filter dialog tables.

To adjust graph colors:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. For the Color Style setting in the Appearance group, select Default or a preselected scheme as a starting point (see the Appearance subsection above).

  3. Click a Color <number> field in the Graph Colors group.

  4. To the right of the Color <number> field, click the to open the drop-down list.

  5. From the drop-down list, click the Custom, Web, or System tab to select a color palette. Web is the default.

  6. Select a color from the list. When a color scheme is altered, the Color Style setting changes to Custom.

Preferences

You can adjust the following parameters:

  • Default Device

  • Dynamics Meter Display

  • Show Meters

To set the preferences for displaying the default device:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Default Device field.

  3. To the right of the Default Device field, click the button to open the drop-down list.

  4. From the drop-down list select the desired method to start a configuration in DSP Configurator. Options include:

  5. Always Ask (default) - This option enables the device selection dialog box when the DSP Configurator application launches.

  6. Device - You can select a device model from this drop-down list to emulate when the application launches.

To select the preferred meter for the DYN (dynamics) block:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Dynamics Meter Display field.

  3. To the right of the Dynamics Meter Display field, click the button to open the Dynamic Block Meters dialog box that shows two meter options.

  4. Click the Meter Showing Gain Reduction radio button or the Meter Showing Input & Output Levels radio button (factory default).

To choose which meters to display:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Show Meters field.

  3. To the right of the Show Meters field, click the button to open the drop-down list.

  4. From the drop-down list, select True (default) to show active meters (number of open meters can be limited by connection speed). Alternatively, select False to display inactive meters (meters that are turned off).

Processor Defaults

Click the button beside the Defaults field in the Processor Defaults group to expand the list of parameters and enable the scroll bar. In the Options dialog box, processors are listed in alphabetical order but are shown here by category for convenience.

  • Dynamics Defaults - These are the factory default settings for all relevant parameters, including whether a parameter is enabled or disabled. The Enable setting determines whether the block loads bypassed or loads disengaged.

To adjust a processor default:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box opens.

  2. Click the button beside the processor default parameter to be modified. This expands the list of associated settings.

  3. To the right of the setting to be modified, click the button where applicable or enter the desired value.
