Connection GuidelinesAn Ethernet connection is recommended when configuring DSP. Alternately, a USB or RS-232 serial connection may be used. When connecting via Ethernet directly to the device, i.e., not through a network, a crossover cable is necessary. Both Administrator and User level passwords may be stored on the device. When an administrator password exists in the device, the DSP Configurator software will require that password before it will launch. IP address, primary and secondary RS-232 port baud rates, and Administrator and User level passwords can be set under Tools | Device Settings while connected in Live mode (the option is unavailable in Emulate mode). Setting these parameters using the DSP Configurator as well as alternate methods are described in the sections that follow. Address SettingsThe following are the factory default IP address settings.
