Backup Device

It is possible for the data in the device to become 'out of sync' with a file that created that data (for instance, if additional presets are created in Live mode, or via the web page or SIS command), or for the original file to become lost or misplaced. To create a file that is in sync with the data in the device, the Backup utility must be run from the DSP Configurator software.

As stated, when a "pull data" synchronization method is performed, preset data remains in the device, and only the list of preset names is pulled from the device. Recalling each preset individually will effectively bring that preset data into the DSP Configurator software. The Backup utility automates that process, then invokes the Save dialog to complete the backup process.

To run the Backup utility:

  1. Connect to the device you wish to back up. Do not perform this operation during a live event, since all presets will be called sequentially during the procedure.

  2. Go to the File menu and select Backup. A message appears asking if you want to continue. Click Yes.

  3. The Backup utility runs, and the cursor becomes an hour glass while presets are recalled. The Save dialog appears at the end of the operation. Type a file name (or use the default), then click Save.
