Monitor Tab

The Monitor tab is used to respond with an action or email to a specified condition or event.

Actions vary by selected device, and include options such as; Lockout Front Panel, Unlock Front Panel, Open a Relay, Close a Relay, Turn a Lamp On, Turn a Lamp Off, etc.

Custom emails can be created and sent  to specified email addresses following specified conditions or events.

Use the  and  buttons to expand or collapse the view of the selected condition, action, or email tree.

Add a Monitored Condition

To add a monitored condition:

  1. Click the Add Monitor button.

The Monitored Condition Wizard opens (see below).

  1. Enter a unique Monitored Condition Name.

  2. Click Next.

  1. Click Conditions.

  2. Select a Subject Port.

  3. Select an Available Option.

  4. Edit the Name field (if desired).

  5. Select the Condition Test Parameters (if available).

  6. Click Apply Condition.

The new condition is now displayed in the Monitored Conditions window.

 In the example below: the condition System 5 IP w/Amp: Internal Temperature is added just below Conditions in the Monitored Conditions window.  The condition we have set up to be monitored is the internal temperature of a System 5 IP device. If the internal temperature rises above 35°C we can specify an action to occur and/or an email to be sent (see topics below: Specify an Action, and Send an Email).

Specify an Action

To specify an action response to a specific condition:

After the condition has been set -

  1. Click Actions.

  2. Select a Subject Port.

  3. Select an Available Option.

  4. Edit the Name field (if desired).

  5. Click the Apply Action button.

The new action is now displayed in the Monitored Conditions window.

In the example below, a fast blinking red light is to occur on the System 5 IP power off button, if the internal temperature of the device rises above 35°C. This could be a signal to the operator to power the device off because of excessive heat buildup inside the unit.

Send an Email

To send an email as a response to a specified condition:

After the condition has been set -

  1. Click Emails.

  2. Select an Email Message.

  3. Select a Contact.

  4. Click Apply Email  / Contacts.

The new email distribution is now displayed in the Monitored Conditions window under Emails.

In the example below an "Overtemp condition" email will be sent to "sgibson@uptownav.com" if the temperature inside the System 5 IP device rises above 35°C.

The Contact Manager  button opens a dialog box that allows you to add new email contacts.

The Email Manager  button opens a dialog box that  allows you to create new custom emails that can be sent as a response to a specified condition.
